How to Submit a Sitemap to Yahoo

Once you have your sitemap completed, now it is time to submit it to Yahoo. Don't have a sitemap, learn how to create a sitemap. If you have a Yahoo Site Explorer account, you can follow these simple steps to submit your sitemap.
Submit Your Sitemap
- Login into your Yahoo Site Explorer account. Don't have an account? Create a Yahoo Site Explorer account.
- Select "Explorer" beside the site you wish to add a sitemap for. If you do not have a site, add a site to Yahoo Site Explorer.
- Select "Feeds"
- You will see the URL of your site. Example: http://www.yoursite.com/
- In the text box, enter the location and name of your sitemap. Note: It is recommended that you put your sitemap in your root directory. Example: http://www.yoursite.com/sitemap.xml.
- Make sure "Web Site Feed" is selected if you are submitting an .XML sitemap.
- Select "Add Feed".
After you have submitted your site, you should get a confirmation that it has been received. It could take a few days or weeks for Yahoo to index your website. There is also no guarantee that your site will be indexed even if you submit a sitemap.
